In order to meet the needs of patients as hospital services have shifted to an outpatient-based delivery system, a major reorganization and consolidation of space was needed. Shive-Hattery provided complete architectural, engineering and interior design services for the Outpatient Pavilion, a 145,650-square-foot addition.
The surgery department was consolidated from three locations, separated by eight floors, into a new area on the second floor. Cardiology and Women's Services also occupy space in the new pavilion. A walkway that connects to a new parking ramp provides improved patient access. Architectural and mechanical design services were provided by HGA, Minneapolis.
