First Farmers State Bank

Bloomington, IL

Shive-Hattery provided architecture, engineering, and interior design and construction administration for a new 6,000 square foot banking facility located on a 1.5 acre parcel on the east side of Bloomington. The banks interior has a large vestibule and lobby area which welcomes customers to a well lit teller area. Private offices with large interior windows surround the lobby providing a visual connection to the customer waiting area. The vault and workroom areas are secured adjacent to the teller station.

Building design included planning and programming for the bank facility which includes three drive-up full service lanes and a drive-up ATM. The concept of the building design was to create a presence on the corner of a busy intersection, while leaving space for future growth.

A lower level of 1,000 square feet was provided for mechanical space and storage. The building is heated and cooled with a geothermal mechanical system. The well field for the geothermal system is located beneath the driveway and parking area.

Services included survey and site plan preparation including landscaping, signage and site lighting. During construction Shive-Hattery provided shop drawing review, construction staking and periodic construction observation.
