The Marquette McGregor Driftless Area Wetlands Centre project has been designated by the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs as an Iowa Great Place. The Wetland Centre will feature an indoor multi-purpose classroom/community rental space along with a large outdoor shelter area. The site integrates sustainable design practices with opportunities for learning and play. Visitors will learn about the movement of water through the site and the importance of wetlands. The project includes an interpretive center/community center, trails and an overlook on the bluffs above the Mississippi River. It is scheduled to be completed in fall of 2012.
