Shive-Hattery has an immediate opening in our Cedar Rapids office for a professional with 2+ years of experience in the field of architecture.
 

Under the direction of the Studio Leader this position performs a variety of duties associated with design expertise primarily on industrial projects and related services, to assist in achieving desired client satisfaction, and business results. Participation in applicable AIA, NCARB, and/or community activities is preferred.  Primary focus: Industrial Food + Pharmaceutical + Manufacturing. Secondary: Commercial, Education, Public Buildings.

 

Qualifications:

  • An individual with 2+ years of experience looking for an entry level position .
  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited professional degree program.
  • Basic knowledge of design of architectural systems, construction documentation, and associated technology.
  • Demonstrates aptitude in critical, creative thinking associated with design and the design process.
  • Ability to produce construction documents, including 3D model generation and detailing.
  • Motivated and creative professional.
  • Self-motivated and able to problem-solve.  Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit is required. Working knowledge of AutoCAD is beneficial.
  • Focused with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively, which includes planning, organizing and prioritizing work.
  • Willing to collaborate with other team members and have good interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

  • Participate and contribute to design discussions, idea generation, collaboration, and design work in drawing, model and 3D image formats.
  • Production and coordination of design process and technical documents under the direction of a licensed design professional.
  • Work on projects in the Food, Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing markets.
  • Creation of images which convey design solutions.
  • Design and detailing in Revit.
  • Attend project and client meetings with design professionals.
  • Import/export within Revit other modeling software (AutoCAD/Navisworks, etc.) and 3D scanning      technology.
  • Travel to project sites with  some limited overnights.
  • Wear personal protective equipment required for specific clients’ and sites. 
  • Most industrial sites require ability to pass drug screening tests and background screening.
