Leadership

Matt Barron is Managing Director of the Iowa City studio. He is responsible for a culture aligned with Shive-Hattery’s guiding principle, values and purpose. He’s an advocate for employees, fostering mentoring, development and engagement, while supporting growth strategies for culture, client experience, project delivery and profitability.

As a structural engineer, Matt works in tandem with his community to develop the spaces in which we all live, work and play. He creates tailored, tangible value that adds to communities by getting to know clients, their culture and priorities. Matt specializes in design for food and pharmaceutical clients to maintain their infrastructure and adapt their facilities to ever-changing needs.
