• We’re surrounded by material manufacturers in downtown Chicago, which means we get first glimpse at new products (and lots of material samples!). Reps are always swinging by to show us what’s next in architecture and interior design.
• Our office is part workspace, part social space. A bistro area and materials library offer places to collaborate and network.
• We’re right across the street from a CTA L train stop, and we’re two blocks from the Chicago Riverwalk and the Merchandise Mart. This puts us close to public transportation and minutes from major industry events, like NeoCon.
• Having fun is in our DNA. Start the week with a Mario party? Count us in. Sleepover-themed snacks on a Friday? Yes, please!
• In December, we have prime window viewing of the CTA Holiday Train. We get to see Santa, reindeer, and thousands of twinkling lights every year!

Leadership

Mark Matuska is Managing Director of the Chicago (Illinois) and Cleveland (Ohio) offices. He is responsible for a culture aligned with Shive-Hattery’s guiding principle, values and purpose. He’s an advocate for employees, fostering mentoring, development and engagement, while supporting growth strategies for culture, client experience, community involvement, project delivery and profitability.

Mark joined Design Organization (now Shive-Hattery) after his graduation from Ball State University in May of 1997 with Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science degrees. With over 25 years of experience spanning multiple market sectors including higher education, health care, and workplace, Mark leverages this diverse experience to provide greater value to clients and to better guide the development of our professionals.
