The City of West Des Moines, Iowa is honoring veterans with its Folded Flags art installation.
The City of West Des Moines, Iowa is honoring veterans with its Folded Flags art installation. Unveiled on Flag Day, the fifteen, 15-foot illuminating folded flags mark the first phase of an 11-mile roadway enhancement project beginning at Brown’s Woods Drive and Veterans Parkway.
The design process includes the development of entrance signage, median features and artistic installations in the adjacent landscape. Feedback was gathered from neighbors, property owners and veterans in the community to develop the project themes of celebration, recognition and reflection.
With Folded Flags, reflection is the main theme and serves as a reminder of our veterans and their service.
