Shive-Hattery has an immediate opening in our West Des Moines, IA office for a Architectural and Structural BIM Manager. This on-site position could also be fulfilled at the following office locations: Iowa City, IA; Cedar Rapids, IA; Bettendorf, IA; Chicago, IL; Valparaiso, IN; and Madison, WI.

Our Architectural/Structural BIM Manager oversees the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process for architectural and structural systems within a diverse book of projects. This role involves managing the company’s BIM assets and leading improvements to company-wide Architectural/Structural content and processes. A vital aspect of this role involves leading and collaborating with architectural and structural designers, alongside project Digital Design Specialists to guarantee that systems are well-coordinated, clash-free, and efficiently designed to fulfill project requirements. Your leadership skills will prioritize improvements in project delivery and in elevating the client experience.

  • Lead Architectural and Structural teams to identify development needs for BIM software.
  • Promote our One Firm approach by encouraging and enforcing BIM standards.
  • Travel regularly to our office locations to provide consistency as a resource in the use of design technologies.
  • Monitor trade-related publications to identify emerging technologies that may impact how Shive-Hattery delivers projects.
  • Develop strategies to implement recent technologies by managing & updating our models.
  • Facilitate ongoing development of the Shive-Hattery AutoDesk Revit start-up file.
  • Create and manage new and existing BIM content.

 Qualifications 

  • Education: 2-year degree in an AEC-related discipline; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in an AEC role
  • License/Certification: N/A
  • Software: Autodesk Revit, Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of modelling processes
  • Hands-on experience with Navisworks, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and/or AutoCAD
  • Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle.
  • Proven capability to train and mentor others.
