City of Yuma Fleet Maintenance Shop
Located in Yuma, AZ
The City of Yuma needed to replace its maintenance shop that was built in in the 1950’s. A key requirement of the new facility was proper allocation of work areas while maintaining full flexibility of the shop and addressing future technology. The first step in the design process was working with the city to discuss the functional and operational procedures of the crews, identifying the space requirements and relationships between them.
The design team included WSM/Shive-Hattery; Process Engineering firm, Gannett Fleming, and the local team member, Thomson Design Architects in Yuma, for architectural support during the construction phase of the project.
The new Yuma Maintenance Shop provides a complete services facility to maintain existing equipment and vehicles, parts warehouse and tool storage, administration areas, customer service areas, and employee services.
