Fairmeadows Elementary Expansion

The West Des Moines Community Schools successfully completed the expansion and renovation of Fairmeadows Elementary School, enhancing both its facilities and safety measures. The project included the construction of a new gym that also serves as a storm shelter, built to ICC-500 standards. Site improvements featured underground stormwater detention, an expanded parking lot, and various upgrades to the surrounding area.

Interior renovations optimized the school’s functionality, including the relocation of the serving kitchen, the addition of band and vocal practice rooms, and the transformation of the old multipurpose room into flexible classroom spaces. To minimize disruption, the project was carried out in multiple phases, allowing the school to remain operational throughout the school
