The Cordish Companies set out to transform the shuttered Diamond Jacks Casino in Bossier City into Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana — a premier gaming, dining, and entertainment destination.

This ambitious redevelopment required a complete rebranding, revitalization, and reconstruction to introduce a state-of-the-art casino experience, elevate guest accommodations, and solidify the property’s position as the region’s top gaming and entertainment venue. The transformation of Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana delivers an unmatched entertainment experience, featuring the first land-based casino in the Bossier City/Shreveport area.

Shive-Hattery completely reimagined the property’s exterior with bold architectural elements, dynamic lighting, and cutting-edge AV technology, creating a striking visual presence along Highway 20 and the Arthur Ray Teague Parkway. The guest arrival experience was also redesigned for seamless vehicular access and pedestrian-friendly connections.  The former pavilion building was extensively reconstructed and expanded, now housing over 1,000 gaming positions with the latest gaming technology for an immersive guest experience.

A defining feature of the property is its commitment to live entertainment—a hallmark of the Live! brand. The casino now boasts three dedicated live music stages, providing a dynamic lineup of national acts, local talent, and high-energy performances, setting it apart from competitors in the region. A diverse mix of dining and nightlife options were introduced, featuring five signature restaurants and feature bars that bring new culinary experiences to the region.

The existing 540-room hotel underwent a full transformation, offering an enhanced mix of luxury suites and premium accommodations. The modern interiors reflect a fresh, forward-thinking design that appeals to a younger, entertainment-driven clientele. Shive-Hattery also redesigned the resort-style pool area to include private cabanas, lush landscaping, specialty lighting, and immersive AV experiences, creating a day-to-night entertainment destination.

The completion of Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana establishes it as the region’s premier gaming, hospitality, and live music destination. As Executive Architect of Record, Shive-Hattery played a pivotal role in translating The Cordish Companies’ vision into a reality, delivering a seamless and impactful transformation. With three dedicated music stages, cutting-edge gaming technology, and world-class amenities, this redevelopment not only enhances the guest experience but also strengthens the local tourism and economic landscape, drawing visitors from across the region and beyond.

The transformation of Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana is projected to generate over $35 million in local gaming tax revenues and $168 million for the State of Louisiana within its first five years, creating around 1,500 new jobs—including 750 permanent positions. Beyond its economic contributions, the property redefines the region’s entertainment landscape as the first land-based casino, drawing visitors from across the state and beyond.
