Nogales Police Department Needs Assessment

Located in Nogales, AZ

Back to projects

WSM was asked by the City of Nogales Police Department to assess their existing headquarters facility. Originally built as a combined City Hall / Police Headquarters, the Nogales Police Department had swelled from the original 35 officers when the building was completed in the late 1970’s to over 80 officers today. WSM identified several areas of deficiency within the layout and organization of the existing facility.

Several sites throughout Nogales were investigated and assessed for their appropriating for the function and use of the Police Headquarters. Throughout the course of the investigation it was noted that the City Hall also had several issues that needed to be resolved and the project scope grew to include a complete renovation and addition to both the Police Headquarters and City Hall, including a new council chamber. The project was seen as an opportunity to give the old City Hall a new

image to represent the City of Nogales Council and the Nogales Police Department.
