Tucson Fire Maintenance Facility

Located in Tucson, AZ

Back to projects

This project involved the remodeling of a 20,000 square foot existing city surplus warehouse for the Fire Department Support Service Division offices, distribution center, and warehouse space. In addition, the project included the construction of a new 13,000 square foot vehicle maintenance garage immediately adjacent to the existing warehouse for the maintenance and repair of the Fire Department Apparatus. Housed in the existing warehouse are the administrative offices for the support services division, offices for the maintenance shop superintendent and supervisors, a training facility for technicians and fire fighters, small equipment and tool repair facility, parts supply and storage, and the general storage of supplies for all of the Tucson Fire Department Fire Stations.

The new building consists of six double drive-though vehicle bays able to accommodate up to 12 fire apparatus for service. All of the bays feature automotive fluid distribution, access to a bridge crane, tail pipe mounted vehicle exhaust extraction, and electrical service for several types of welding equipment. In addition, two bays feature 80,000 pounds in floor vehicle lifts. Also included in the new facility are a welding bay and a tire shop.

Ultimately, the facility gives the technicians the space and the tools to assist them in maintaining the entire Tucson Fire Department Fleet from one location.
